Women of Harris HMC (HMCW)
The Harris HMC Woman’s (HMCW) program provides a dedicated space where our female team members can network, collaborate and share valuable skills and knowledge. This program not only offers our team the chance to further their professional goals, but also provides the chance for our female staff to build close connections with other women from across our business to ensure they have advice, support and mentorship from others who may have worked through similar challenges, and to create a diverse environment for personal and professional growth. This company initiative promotes training and events to bring greater awareness to diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
Five-Day Week Policy
Our Five-Day Week Policy aims to drive a culture where employees work, on average, no more than five days per week. This policy sets guidelines for site-based employees who are required to work additional days to their normal working week as per their roster.
This policy encourages site-based employees to work an average five-day week and was developed to improve work-life balance, providing better support for those who may not be afforded the same flexibility as others working across other different areas of the business, given the nature of their roles.
Contributing to the advancement of women in trades
In partnership with Highlands LLEN, Harris HMC is encouraging girls in grades 11 and 12 to try a trade through the NextGen Tradies program. With support from Platinum Institute Australia, Women’s Health Grampians, and Apprenticeship Support Australia, the program provides attendees with hands-on experience through the construction of a cubby house. As well as giving back to the community, we have the opportunity to provide insights into a career path that young women may not have considered otherwise and support an organisation that is doing incredible things to promote women’s entry into trades.
Engaging in work that has a measurable impact
Harris HMC aims to positively impact the lives of those less fortunate by providing meaningful opportunities and a sense of purpose. Investing in partnerships that deliver long-term economic and social benefits to the broader community, and our people, committed to contributing to the quality of life in the communities in which we operate and understand the lasting value we can create.
